In an effort to make and affordable TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Training program to more individuals, Paradise TEFL Chiang Mai is coming Portland Oregon for the month of July. This is an opportunity for many stateside individuals to take advantage of the lower course fees and hands on teaching and practical approach our program offers without having to up root themselves in order to obtain certification overseas. “I am heading from the ‘Rose of the North’ to the ‘City of Roses’ and plan on arriving in early June to get things set up for July.” As a result, the Paradise TEFL Chiang Mai and beachside Hua Hin Thailand programs will not be offered during these two months but will be available once again in August in order to accommodate what has already been a keen interest in Portland for a peak summertime training session.
According to the Paradise TEFL program’s founder, Dr. Stephen Gardener, who heads the Paradise TEFL On-Line and Virtual courses as well as its newest site location in Dongguan China, “Programs in the states tend to focus on the theory of learning rather than the hands on practice and usage of the language. Many such programs tend to focus on the kind of teaching one would utilize in an international university with a group of highly motivated English or linguistics majors where the academic levels of English are quite high. However, much of this information is useless and ill-suited for the realities of teaching conversational and basic reading and writing English language skills found in typically large classes in public and private schools throughout global TEFL community where the vast majority teaching jobs are located.”
